Official Job Description
ABOUT SARVAM
Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India. The company is developing India's full-stack sovereign AI platform, building across research, models, infrastructure and applications with a singular focus on making AI genuinely work for India. Sarvam works with leading enterprises and public institutions and is backed by Lightspeed, Peak XV, and Khosla Ventures. Sarvam partners with India's leading brands, including Tata Capital, SBI Life, CRED, IDFC, and LIC.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Full Stack AI Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to build and manage Sarvam's education product portfolio. You will work across the full stack — from AI model integration and backend services to frontend experiences — shipping products that reach learners, educators, and institutions at scale. This is a high-ownership engineering role where you will shape both the technical architecture and the product direction of Sarvam's education vertical.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- -Build and ship full stack features across Sarvam's education product portfolio, owning end-to-end implementation
- -Integrate Sarvam's AI models — including speech, language, and multimodal capabilities — into education-focused products
- -Design and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power education applications
- -Develop responsive, accessible frontend interfaces tailored to diverse learner and educator experiences
- -Manage the product portfolio lifecycle — from scoping and prioritisation to deployment and iteration
- -Collaborate closely with product, design, and GTM teams to translate requirements into high-quality builds
- -Monitor production systems, debug issues, and continuously improve reliability, performance, and user experience
- -Contribute to technical architecture decisions and help define engineering standards for the education vertical
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- -3–5 years of full stack engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping production-grade products
- -Strong proficiency in backend development (Python, Node.js, or equivalent) and frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, or equivalent)
- -Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models or APIs into user-facing products
- -Solid understanding of system design, RESTful APIs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- -Ability to manage multiple workstreams and product components simultaneously with high attention to detail
- -Strong product sense — understands user needs and translates them into clean, functional experiences
- -Clear communicator who collaborates effectively across engineering, product, and business teams
BONUS POINTS
- -Prior experience building products for the education sector or EdTech platforms
- -Familiarity with speech or NLP technologies, especially in Indian language contexts
- -Experience with low-bandwidth or mobile-first product design for Tier 2/3 markets
WHY SARVAM?
Sarvam is a fast-moving, high talent-density team building full-stack AI for India, working on problems that push the frontiers of AI with real population-scale impact.
- -Work alongside researchers, engineers, builders, and business leaders who move fast and hold each other to a very high bar
- -High ownership and high impact, from day one
- -Everything we do is AI-first, from the way we build and ship to the way we think about problems
- -You can work on problems that could change how an entire country learns, works, and communicates
If you want to work on problems at the frontier of AI in India, Sarvam is the place to be.
